great , now there will be one more tv made in china by slave labor . great move . the landfill gets bigger and bigger . next time you have asset (a working tv is an asset ) just unplug it and don't use it , give it away to someone that likes tv and has a broken one so they don't have to buy and inport one from china , made with slave labor by people who will die early from the toxins used in making tv's but i guess you didn't think that far

i have to make a correction : tv is like a DRINK or a smoke,or a cheeseburger ........so in the end i guess you have not looked at my you tube channel , you will see i am on your side . in my utopia if there where 10 mil tvs in use today 20 years from now there would still be the same 10 million in use , that would mean tvs would be used less and not wear out and none would have been inported and NO old ones sent to the dump........UTOPIA

@CactusBobsPlace in my utopia all the infrastructure that creates tvs would be burnt to the ground, but talking about what ifs will not bring it any closer to reality. I can sympathize with people that do fucked up things to themselves (watching tv, eating at mcdonalds or smoking crack, not to say that they are equally as destructive) people having many ways of escaping and repressing this fucked up reality we live in, but at no point will i buy into the "necessary evil" idea.

@njb9601 further more my mom has lost most of her grip on reality thanks to tv, which probably makes me a bit more aggressive to the destruction of tvs, and hell maybe if people were not watching tv they could stop the messed up situations that put people in a point in there life where all they do is watch tv. but thats a big maybe and the problem is much deeper than television

Step 3.1 Wear a respirator because there will be some phosphor fall out once the screen is smashed. It looks like dust but it's not. You don't want want to be breathing this shit.

Step 3.2 Take the TV outside when you smash it because that shit is gonna make a mess of glass and phosphor fall out which again you don't want to be breathing the fall out.

1. All things considered if a lot of people dicarded their TV sets and not bought new ones we eventually end up with less TV and less demand for TV's so I think that the slave labour argument is invalid...they only manufacture it because we buy it and they manufacture it in China because we are price sensitive.

2. You sould have used a sledgehammer...more spectacular results ;)

@njb9601 part 2: grandmother lived for the last 2 years in a bed in my liveing room with just a tv to keep her occupied . if the tv went down it was replaced real quick . i guess i should have broken the tv taken here out side and shot her , because she was on crack ! go to a VA hospatal and tell those guys that had there legs blown off , tv is bad no tv for you ! if tv set where made in USA i would say break all you want ,but no there from china the worse place on earth to work . get my point
