Nala, a 2 year old German Shepherd, has Canine Megaesophagus, a condition where her esophagus is enlarged and flacid (it does not propel food into the stomach). The "Bailey Chair" has not only allowed her to survive, as it allows gravity to put the food into her stomach, but absolutely thrive! She is now an 80 lb very healthy dog. She must sit in her chair fo 25 minutes after she finishes.

  • Not sure about hip issues....I think it will be tough as she ages, but hips good now. Better than the Alternative - aspiration pneumonia or starvation .... And thank you to all of you for your support....she is NO burden ! She is an unbelievably friendly, loving and

loyal part of our family, with the

Most amazing temperament - we are LUCKY to get to have her in our lives.

  • My husband built that chair....contact the megaesophagus group (google or FB) for "bailey chair" and they will send you the directions for$6....we designed the foot gate and the tray holder (cut out wood to fit bowl and it Velcro's on). Hope this helps and good

    Luck!
