2009 Acura RL @ 2008 Chicago Auto Show by Inside Line

Well, if you consider a giant new piece of chrome on the grille something special, then the 2009 Acura RL is your kind of luxury sedan. Of course, there's more than just chrome up front. The grille has been updated with Acura's "power plenum" design and the aluminum hood is now "blow-formed" to assure its almost perfectly flat shape. There are five new exterior colors as well.

Seriously, they should put a V8 and a rear wheel drive as a option. But Honda is well known for their lightweight cars and handling ability. Font wheel drive supposedly will give you more handling.And having a V6 instead of a V8 would be more light weight.The Mustang has a V8 300 hp correct? And so the Acura RL has a V6 with also a 300hp engine.Acura has took the advantage of adding more mechanics to increase its hp while still maintaining its lightweight ability.And with the SH-AWD is superior.

I have seen TWO of this generation. What's up, Acura? And, 22MPG is just awful.

I mean u just named two of highest known cars..i mean come on now u nameing cars that go as high over 100k...Acura isnt on that level yet give them a few more years trust me they will be there..and bmw is just a knock off mercedes

Acura has step its game up a whole lot with there new line up of cars..I kno when I test drove the tsx that beat the bmw 3 series and alot of other good name cars..just give acura a few more years and they will be up there with mercedes...and to me a bmw is a knock off mercedes anyway

Honda originally had plans for the 2010 RL to feature a V8 but then very shortly after that stated they were cutting that plan and pushing it over to 2015.

Was reading in my Car & Driver Jan. '09 issue today and they mention that the next RL will FINALLY be a much longed for V8. I'm thinking too that Acura is also going to finally make the car roomy enough to compete with what it's being compared to. I love Acura and I truly hope they get the next RL right. This one is a step in the right direction but bring on the V8, rwd, and more room and people will buy them.

Ok, lets not act like 10hp will make a difference in a car that is not made to be fast. I smoked several RLs and 10hp wouldnt have helped. And my BMW has never let me down reliability wise. I get a full maintenance plan with it that covers every single part, including brakes!!! The RL is not really designed to compete with BMW or Mercedes. It is a 50k Accord, but thats cool if thats what you are looking for.
