Kevin Martin, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, has been keeping a secret from the American people. He wants to push through plans to remove decades-old media ownership protections. And he's trying to do it without public scrutiny.

Senators Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) and Trent Lott (R-Miss.) have introduced groundbreaking bipartisan legislation that would hold the FCC accountable and put the people ahead of Big Media.

Petitions from the public — millions of them — stopped media consolidation in 2003. Sign the petition and tell everyone you know:

  • A casual American observer can easily see the uncanny similarities in media coverage between Hitler, using Joseph Goebbels as his propaganda tool and Bush using Fox News, to spead their "Big Lies."

Simple Motto: Repeat a lie often enough, so that people might start to believe that it's the truth.

  • This is a great video...we need to do something to stop more consolidation

  • Time to wake up Americans and cut that son of a bitch Kevin Martin down. Get that sell-out corrupt fucker working for Fox and big media criminals distorting the truth!

  • You are uneducated. Ron paul would never support a thing like this, nor has he. look at his record. he's called "doctor no" in congres because he votes NO to so many corrupt bills. Go Ron Paul.

  • Yea and your obviously no rocket scientist!

    RON PAUL 2008

  • Either you have great vision for the future or you stand to loose something from the government. VOTE RON PAUL

  • You know this for sure? Ron Paul is the only candidate that's for the people... On top of that he is well aware of what the huge media conglomerates can do to you, I'd be willing to bet your dead wrong!

  • o yeah, he's a mjfox look-alike!!?? He looks like h. potter!

  • It is not just television. The media conglomerates own newspapers, radio stations and television. It was the big five that sold the invasion and occupation of Iraq to the American public. He who controls the message owns the past and the future. The airwaves belong to the public....take back the media.

  • Off subject a bit, but with the obvious privatization of the FCC, I believe that this trend is moving fast and furious. Utility companies are being privatized all over and it won't be long before we'll be seeing City of Seattle brought to you by GE. Then we will no longer be citizens but shareholders.

  • That is the only thing you've been right on about. Ron Paul would support this.

  • No, ponyboy316. We do not live in that kind of society. Farmers get subsidized, Medicad, our federal government recently bailed out big banks regarding the sub-prime loan mess, etc. etc. etc. What led you to believe that this was a capitalist society?
