This is the first of a series of videos where I will show how to program different kind of sounds on a synthesizer. I'm going to work with Synth1, a free VST synthesizer. This first episode is about how to program a simple bass line. The parameters values are approx. Values are expressed in %.

  • I copy everything exactly the same as the screen and follow instructions. Can't get the sound even close to what is being heard. If it has anything to do with the initial sound, then that's just perfect. Anyone?

  • but you did it with the synth1??? you should get the same sound ( at least close ) , the initial sound is just a raw square wave.

  • Not bad. Sounds Good.

But you should exit MSN next time ;-)

  • Why??? MSN sound is great ;)

  • could go further than 30 seconds. that arpg is annoying as hell

  • Can be , so talk with Pluxus because is the bassline from his song Caravell :) , anyway this is not about compose music is about learn to use a synthesizer.

  • For a free synth, this has got to be if the best free or almost because I found 9000 presets.. Never have i seen so many presets for one VST..

  • @DaNorthernLight sorry.. where do u get synth1?

  • I LOVE the thought of a tutorial using free VST!!! Thank you so much for making one! :D

    What VST are you using???

  • I dont know if you do requests, but a challenge for you, could you do a tutorial that makes a synth that sounds someting like that underground techno screaming synth from Goldies "saint angel" that starts about 3:33 into the song? Thanks

  • do you know any bands that use this synthesizer?

  • My initial sound doesnt sound like that, mine is a pad... =S

  • Now I can get it almost there, but something still lacks. I'd rather know how to fully recreate sounds myself that way I'll always have "that sound"
