DISCLAIMER: This video is a piece of satire (sending up the "Organised Anarchy" of the facebook group and their attitudes towards the X-Factor) and, as such, should not be.....
- Taken entirely seriously
- Used by angry NME types as en excuse to fly off the handle and act like a deranged lynch mod
- Ingested Orally
- Misinterpreted as me defending or having anything but contempt for Shows like "The X-Factor" and the artists they produce.
If anyone would be bothered to ask, my ACTUAL opinion on the matter is as following "It's an awesome idea and the fact it's happening is fucking hilarious, I just think RATM isn't an appropriate track to get the message across and would be just as unsuitable for Christmas Number 1 as the X-factor song, but as the "Don't stop believin'| campaign isn't as popular I guess Rage'll have to do, at least some money's gone to charity because of it."
It's actually made me saddened on the inside that I've actually had to take time to explain this.
"ParanoiDave" gives his input on the "Rage Against the machine - Killing in the name for Xmas number one" campaign.
Expect foul language, lazy editing and disturbing images of Simon Cowell, Jedward and Joe McElderry.
End of the day, i went to a free gig and saw RATM. <3

Lovely. Not really relevant, but lovely nonetheless.

@Paranoidave Well it sort of is, cause of getting it to number 1 caused they did a free gig. That wasn't meant to sound argumentative.

I know. I even said it's awesome that they did a free gig. Just that the point of this vid was, while the heart of the facebook group may have been in the right place, choosing a song like Rage did more harm to their "real music vs. X-Factor" than good.
Which is why it wiped the floor with the 'Surfin Bird' campaign this year.

Go figure It was Bird is the word this year.....and they failed B-D

Figures it would be a song that was played to death in Family Guy for most of 2010. Still, a miles better choice though.
