b) Those in northern Mississippi, around Corinth

c)  Those in Baton Rouge

d) Those in eastern North Carolina

e) All of the above. The answer is E. In addition to these, slaves in northeastern Florida east of Jacksonville, southeastern coast of South Carolina surrounding Beaufort, northeastern Virginia, and northern Alabama surrounding Huntsville.

itchmyfoot sounds like a yankee. the fact is that the stars and bars represent exactly three things...courage, defiance, and the willingness to stand up in the face of overwhelming odds. it was truly a war for southern independence. look at the economics...the south had raw materials ready to process.the north had the processing machinery. what good is machinery with nothing to process? whereas southerners had no use for the gadgets of the north,thus the north was useless to the rebels
