According to a new memoir about late Sen. Edward Kennedy, "True Compass," he issued a "no crying" edict in his household. Yet, his son Ted Jr. told Larry King that his father was "a very emotional man... the older he got."

Ted was then played video of his eulogy for his father in which he fought through tears in telling the story about "climbing that hill together," and told Larry that "by showing this video.. you have proved that, yes indeed, Kennedys do cry."

Meanwhile, Ted Jr.'s brother Patrick admits the "no crying" rule "didn't work for very long with me."

  • After what his family have been through over the years is it any wonder that Patrick Kennedy had some mental trauma. That is one strong family you are looking at right there. They had to compete with some really shady and destructive people. All this while tyring to maintain freindships and families outside the political arena. I honestly don't know what kept that family going. You will rarely if ever see a family go through so much suffering and come out stronger.

  • The emotional side of the Kennedys was the Irish coming out. Teddy was a true Irishman He must have been truly sorry for his mistakes and as far as I am concerned, he made amends for them. Sometimes we have to find other ways by which to get peace with ourselve and with God.

Thanks Patrick and Teddy for sharing with US this great man that we appreciate so much for all that he did for those who could not do it themselves.

  • Ted Kennedy did more for the down trodden and handicapped and those who were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth, than any one politician in history.
