A Galliarde (using the French spelling) is a court dance that was popular throughout all of Europe. This particular little dance is not ascribed to any particular composer but was found in a collection of 14 Galliards published by the French music publisher Pierre Attaingnant. Performed by Ed Faulk

  • @alpenfrauchen Yes, that is correct.

  • Hello ! What is the source of this dance tune ? The year date of 1529 suggests that it is the 1st Paris Dance Book (Premièr Livre des Danceries), printed by Pierre Attaignant. Could it be right ?

  • Thank you for your very kind words. The video is done with, believe it or not, a FlipVideo. The audio comes from a Zoom H4 processed through Audacity and then the video is assembled in Windows Movie Maker.

  • Ed - Very nice. In addition to your excellent piano playing your videos are always very crisp - both in sound and appearance.
