Excellent attention to detail...In the process of procuring hardware to install in my attic - will follow up with performance results...Thank you es 73's - john W0OGP
Ok John, all copied as the saying goes. You will have a very fast delivery from both unadilla and cal-av labs as you live in the US. You will find no problems with attic operation, you can coil up any excess feeder, tie it to metal,or clip it to brick, you can even bury the feeder in the ground. Because you are not using coaxial cable, you will find great improvement in the amount of stations heard and in theory if you can hear them , they can hear you ! Good luck John and 73 de M0RRQ.
PS ..John , you can use the following lengths of feeder to suit your installation...35 ft (as in this video), or, 70 feet , 96 feet , 108 feet , 128 feet , or finally 140 feet. You can use 10 amp power cable if you like, that is good for 400w and is much cheaper. I had S7-S9+10DB qrm @ my station daily from next door neigbours wireless internet router with coaxial feed, i changed and "seen the light" with twin balanced feeder now , all qrm has gone and i can enjoy our wonerful hobby again.
Very true, but a British gentleman by the name of Sir Joseph Whitworth who invented the thread and nut the adjustable spanner now fits. We should only need a few spanners really.( All BSW type no need for adjustable/retractable types). Sadly if Mr Whitworths fine invention has been changed by others, making a holy mess of it so to speak.
