This is the latest animation by design and innovation company Seymourpowell of its visionary transportation concept, Aircruise - a giant, vertical airship powered by natural energy and designed to carry travellers in style and luxury.
Originally a self-generated project, Seymourpowell¹s Aircruise is the concept design for a hotel in the sky, with low passenger numbers and huge internal spaces offering room for living, dining and relaxing, as well as scope for dramatic and inspirational public spaces. The initial design proposes a bar/lounge zone, four duplex apartments, a penthouse and five smaller apartments.
The concept subsequently captured the imagination of Korean giant Samsung Construction and Trading (C&T). Driven by its interest in new materials for building, Samsung C&T appointed Seymourpowell to refine the idea and produce a detailed computer animation of the proposed experience to illustrate this visionary approach to the future.

  • reminds me of an episode of Archer....

"Hello airplanes? Yeah it's blimps, you win. Bye!"

    watch?v=Kq-N3_plNq8

  • Ya that cool and all..

    But will it BLEND???

  • Looks nice, but i would not step onto such a wall like object that seems it is more likely to be carried into the wind (and unfortunatly into buildings) than use its own propulsion (which cannot be seen at all, making it appear more like a luxury balloon waiting to crash).

  • but it seems they have changed for a cheap one now...

  • If you think about it, the sixties-seventies people who were born in that time frame might see practical immortality for thousands of years, at least in the developed world. The life expectancy will not just rise, but rise faster and faster, leading to a threshold where you're sixty, and your lifespan's seventy. When you're seventy, it'll be 85. When 85, it'll be 110. And with genetic stuff, that'll most likely happen.

  • Hotels on the ground.. -check

    Hotels on air.... -check

hotels in space... - in process

now all we need is an underground aqua hotel lol, instead of pools you go diving..

  • I soooooo want to go on this cruise but it is not buit but they are thinking on building it I know this becoz my teachers son designed this

  • hmm so i suppose by 2070 or later they could build this and I would be in my 70s but look like im in my 30s and then they would have 1000 of these. So maybe all of us should wait until 2070 to continue on with our lives until this happens. NOT. Folks where decades behind in technology. They have 1,000,000 TB of storage out there!

  • @Shinjeez probably, hopefully not too long though, because the universe's demise is pretty ugly to say the least

  • @black00dice I'd add that if you live beyond 2200 you are also very likely to last thousands of years... millions/billions if you wish.
