There is sound about this project ¿What do people know about it?
Well, people know it's an effort to imitate Melee mechanics and put them into Brawl, to increase tech skill and try to make it "definitive", like, to create a scene of its own.

Personally, I was skeptic, completely skeptic ¿How so?
Well, my premise was: ¿How is a "hack" going to change everything?

I was dead wrong, it is not a hack, it is a mod. You know like... ¿Half-Life mods? Well, this is something similar.

I decided to opt to become a PlayTester for Project M, and I realized they weren't really taking new entries, they have enough players testing the game, better players than I.
Bizarrely and fortunately, I got to test the game myself and... ¿my surprise? Feels good, doesn't feel stiff, and it's not even near completion.
This 'product' is well done so far, and I'm satisfied. I'll continue to pursue more combos and "what can be done" and "what cannot be done", and I'll do my best to showcase them here on YouTube if I'm allowed to.

About the video ¿What can I say? I apologize for the poor quality, I've been testing many codecs, I had a good one before, but ate too much space, still does, and I decided to go back to that one instead of this mediocre codec that is making my videos look like dirt. Still, is understandable, you can tell what's going on and you can start make your comparisons between this and Melee.

Of course, it's not Melee, this is Project Melee, be sure to understand.

Also, this also helped me to make this clear: Super Smash Bros. Melee is Perfect.

How you read it, it's perfect, and the development of this mod demonstrates how complicated Melee actually is.

Please enjoy this small compilation, I know it's not much, but there is good stuff, good enough to make you wonder: "that looks way too similar to Melee!".
A lot of things are back, other are modified, other are incomplete, this is a project in development, a lot of things will change for better or worse, and that is up to us.

Let's show some support, this project need to flourish into something bigger.

Please visit the official Project M's website:

http://www.smashmods.com/

You'll be able to find more P:M videos there, as well as other interesting Mods such as Brawl+ and Brawl-.

Note: Please -do not- ask me to share the files to play Project M, try and opt in like everyone else. I will ignore requests of that kind.

It does look like Brawl, visually, but the game per se is starting to become a stand alone title, files are over 900mb and will have lots of surprises to please the Melee fanbase. Stay tuned.

  • @1:29, that was very manly ;)

  • i find funny that samus looks alot like i balanced it for the brawl+ i play, but has a less cheap air lasso :P

  • M2K should be the guy rewriting code since he memorized the frame data and doesn't have to go check things like, how much damage you have to have for Marth's uthrow to make the crowd scream bloody murder.
