Chief Education Officer Augusta Ifell has conducted an investigation and submitted her findings to the Teaching Service Commission. That body will determine what will happen in the case of a senior member of the RC Boys Teaching Staff accused of giving a student 11 strokes and bruising his bottom in the process. But that is not where the matter ends the issue has gone to the courts. The parents of that student have served the Ministry, the principal and the teacher in the matter. Here the Education Minister talks about the merits of the case and his stance on corporal punishment.

  • @expostfactum You're not calling a spade a spade here. You do that to an adult it would be a hit, or a strike. Just because it's a child you want to dress it up in words like spank.

I can tell from your aggression that it's likely that you suffered this abuse yourself.

  • @killer8479394 Yeah, so he could be housed with more violent and more lawless criminals, get educated on being one of them when he gets out....and get sexually abused by the other inmates and staff....Yeah, thats what he REALLY needs to be getting to make him a better citizen

  • @zivkovicable I love how you use the phrase"hit their child enough"like that is what we are talking about. You are a typical hippy nutcase looking to use words and phrases to manipulate the meaning of the subject at hand to justify your idiocy.Next thing you liberal jackwads will be calling"grounding or restriction" "solitary confinement or social deprivation" and then you will move on to pouring water over a child to rinse their hair as "waterboarding".Just shut up! Realty knows you are wrong.

  • @expostfactum You claim to be talking about "the facts of history" then come out with half baked opinions. You're view is on the losing end of history, as more governments realise their jails are full of people that were physically punished as kids, & colleges full of people who weren't.

The prison population is exploding because the companies that own them, make a ton of money, some of which is used to "lobby" politicians. Not because someone didn't hit their child enough.

  • @zivkovicable And Im sure that every one of those inmates, who are convicted criminals, didnt try and act like they are victims and that it was someone elses fault, and were 100% honest in this supposed poll you are referring to.............

  • @expostfactum Prisons are full of people who DID get spanked. Inmates of San Quentin were surveyed, & 100% were physically punished as children.

  • Probsbly was his parents. I mean, come on, ALL of those bruises from one spanking session? Unlikely

  • We can sit around and bitch about this and that till the cows come home...the fact of history CLEARLY shows that before we had children getting spankings for being bad, and they learned their lessons and grew into a better adult. Now we dont spank and kids are total assholes with no respect for adults, teachers, their own parents/family members and themselves. Our prison population is exploding with people who didnt get spankings at home and society is a rude, disrespectful bunch of adults
