A BEAUTIFUL Coachbuilt Duesenberg at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn Indiana. I believe the owner of the car said this was a Murphy built car, tho I am unsure if that is exactly what he said. The car is powered by a Straight-8 engine that was tremendously powerful for its day. The car ran smooth and relativly quiet for its age....it was a beautiful shade of bluish-purple, that was accented by chrome on the exterior, light wood, and gray wool on the interior. I would guess the value of this car is in excess of a million dollars.

  • It sounds like that because the gears are not syncronized! Stop with the stupid comments about grinding the gears! This is how the car is, its not damaging.. it just SOUNDS that way.

  • Gorgeous car, but it doesn't sound very healthy.

  • Thank you....I think that is because it was still on the 6 volt system, that and the 1st and 2nd gears are not syncronized on those models...hence the 'grinding' sound...thats how they sounded originally from the factory...by todays standards they DO sound 'ill', lol.
