Boy, does this bring back memories! I was at the Jazz Workshop nightly to hear the group, including when the album was recorded. Cannonball took S.F. by storm. The lines were out the door, and inside the tiny club the music was magic. Bobby Timmons absolutely rocked the house with "Dis Here." I've been listening to jazz for 50 years, and these were the greatest, most exciting live performances I've ever heard.

Saw Cannon and Nat at the Half Note often. 1960s They were so warm and great to hear in person. That was an intimate club

Cannonball is perhaps my favorite jazz musician along with Blue mitchell and Jimmy Heath and so many others.

The documentaries create a situation that I am happy to wrap myself around. I'm learning a ton. Thanks.
