A much re-worked Precision Scale Co. brass K4s 4-6-2 rolls through Spruce Creek with an express in 1956 on Dave Vollmer's N Scale Juniata Division. The locomotive has a new motor, additional electrical pickup, and DCC. The work was all done by a pair of friends to whom I'm grateful. The K4s was among the most iconic Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives; in fact, it's the official locomotive of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I'm fortunate to have one in N scale, and especially one that runs this well.

  • Dave, you'll be happy to know my Dad just mistook your hated Code 80 for Atlas 55. You can sleep a little better tonight, I know it's been keeping you up.

  • Great video. Steamer looks fantastic and your signalling system adds that extra touch.

I never knew that the K4 is the official locomotive of the Commonwealth. Hopefully that full sized one makes excursion service soon. Who knows-NS has restarted their steam program and the K4 would make a great asset.

    Best,

    Chris

  • Very nice shot!
