The skyscrapers and "Egg" make the plaza look like it came from a sci-fi movie.

actually it is correctly pronounced AL-bany, NOT ALL-bany, pple here in Albany just pronounce it that way.

Very cool example of poorly conceived architecture - see wikipedia. I showed my grandparents who loved the little tiny park around the corner with trees, but they refused to venture into the bleak, hot expanse that's too big to walk across. The bowl is known as the "egg". It's closed to pedestrians in the winter beause of wind and ice.
