This is my own take on the song Teardrop by Massive Attack. Nearly everything in this track is MIDI apart from the 'Far Eastern Drums' and the 'Long Crash' cymbal. I don't have a MIDI keyboard or interface so I had to make do with the musical typing that comes with Garageband. The drums don't sound like what they should on youtube, as an mp3 file they sound much better. This is my first attempt at Garageband so let me know what you think.

  • where did you get the midi files from...?

  • If you read the description it says that I used the musical typing in garageband. Just press Shift, Apple, k. I just used that to type the notes in.

the piano riff is simple. r-hand: a e a d a d e, in one bar, with the a note being in the lower octave.

l-hand (bass) simple, just hold the single notes, a for one bar, g for the next, and d for the final.

Try practising along with the song, it'll make it simpler.

  • excellente cover

  • Can you show me a clearer view of the piano notes?

  • nice :)
