The longest continuous civil war in Africa came to an end when the permanent peace agreement between the parties was signed in January of 2005.
National elections are set for 2009; 2011 will mark the date for a referundum on separating the north and south (although no boundaries are agreed to at this time...)

My time in Sudan: beginning early March of 2002; and, late 2007 to mid 2008. The struggle for peace and justice in Sudan is a dream of all Sudanese.
