@ploofedoof burying the gate doesn't stop the creation of a wormhole, it just prevents anyone from coming through. If you recall the episode where Jack was stranded after the meteor shower took out the gate and Teal'c gated in with digging tools to get to the surface.

why didnt they have more ships? they could have zerged the ori with like 100+ hattak. Especially if the lucian alliance had sent more than 3 fuckin ships. Its also strange how the sized of the ships are out of wack. The asgard ship is gargantuan, bigger than a hattak yet on this batte the 304, hattak and oniell class all seem to be about the same size.

i;m actually kind of surprised that no one made the attempt to physically block off the supergate... either with a shield type iris or parking a few motherships inside the gate itself to prevent the formation of a wormhole... on the principal that burying the smaller stargates prevents the creation of a wormhole, same idea larger scale

@FirewallAndFlush There's an easier way than that, just abandon a mother-ship then set coordinates for it to pop out of hyperspace directly inside the ori ship's shields and displace them out of their own shield bubble, that much mass in the same space and time simply wont fit
