@Snoshado Right. And it's not like they drove out ONTO the marsh. There was an access road. As an avid bird photographer, I can attest that there are very, very few places that you can just roll up on and get a shot. Parking and lots and lots of walking. Besides that, I'm sure much of the footage was edited in during post. I doubt they actuallyshot it during the "flyout". Hell, they may not have even shot it there at all.

I've been to a bird place just like that one. That's what the tracks look like to places you're allowed to drive to.

This commercial is irresponsible. Drivers should never drive into delicate marshes like that. The last shot especially looks like she blazed her own trail right to the bird's habitat. Yikes. For all the environmental responsibility Subaru promotes, I am disapointed with this spot.
to treadlightlymonica: I worked as the wildlife consultant for this film shoot and can assure you that I personal managed the crew and vehicles at Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. None of the activities that the animals were subjected to were outside the normal regime of refuge visitation, maintenance or intrusion on closed areas. The production company that employed me was very sensitive to the restrictions we put in place to reduce the disturbance to th refuges wildlife.

@treadlightlymonica at least Subaru makes videos that are interesting to watch... Who cares about the freaking marsh? I'm sure they had a million permits to do that and they probably fixed whatever damage they created. It's not like they had one camera man and one driver who just drove like an idiot. They choreograph commercials and make sure they're causing as little harm as possible. I <3 my Forester STI and I would, like most other Subie owners, NOT go smashing through wilderness...
