San Francisco is nothing more than a cliche mecca.
Go to Oakland where there are real ethnic restaurants.
Oh, and you're chances of getting shot in a drive-by in Oakland are about as great as getting shot in a drive-by in San Francisco be dammed the "statistics".

this is a guide for white people who don't like to do anything fun. this stupid 11 minute clip is packaged into a neat little idea without regard for what the city is all about. i can think of a million better things to do and places to go in sf. all these clips (brazil, barcelona, so on) fail to show what makes these big cities unique and electric...

Oh come on, really?? This is hardly an "insider guide"! It's all overpriced and overrated tourist/yuppie/hipster junk. If you want Vietnamese food, why the hell would you go to the Slanted Door?? There are many choices for better, cheaper, and much more authentic Vietnamese food. Same thing goes for Yank Sing when it comes to Dim Sum. Notice how the only Chinese people in there are the staff. It's sickening how deeply Hayes Valley has gentrified over the past 10-15 years.
