Thomas Sowell has studied and taught economics, intellectual history, and social policy at institutions that include Cornell University, UCLA, and Amherst College. Now a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, Sowell has published more than a dozen books, the latest of which is a revised and updated edition of his classic volume, Basic Economics.
"Through its various editions," Sowell writes, "the fundamental idea behind Basic Economics remains the same: Learning economics should be as uncomplicated as it is informative." Here, Sowell seeks to uncomplicate some of the economic issues confronting the country today, from the financial crisis and the role of the Fed to the economics of health care and trade imbalances.

I am not too sure I agree with eveyrthing he says. It seems his answers are either constrained or he actually believes some of the government "talking points" that he's spouting out. Yes, he did say he'd end the fed, but then again that's popular now and he won't get into trouble for it. However, he does throw out as a "given" that congress has some modicum of control over the fed, which is patently false. Like I said, either he is trying to keep his job / life or he believes it.

Socialism invade the head of all politics and citizen in France. In my country T.Sowell can't be eared because 90% of french idealize the state and hate the free market. They don't see that the state is more dangerous and incapable to fulfil all aspect of life than the free will of mens and womens!
