@savagebuster led's aren't a scam if you know what your looking for.. 1w leds suck and r mostly made in china to scam so yes in a way people get scammed. if you wanna grow successfully wit led's you need to get 3w or 5w led lights to penetrate nicely.. which that also can be a scam. have to get the 3w or 5w light bulbs not the one's where there is 3 1w led in one led.

@elm411 how bout you get your facts right... nasa created led lights in the early 90's to grow plants on the moon. since they didnt have all that great power up there leds was perfect for the job... enough said..

TO ALL THE STUPID PEOPLE. If you do BASIC research on wavelengths of light it is EASY to understand what LED setups you will need for your garden. If you buy a random LED panel off or ebay, you deserve to get shafted. It takes a few hours of reading and a little common sense and you will realize that LED's are in many ways more efficient in producing absorbable light. I have 2 large gardens that are run with groups of LED's. I prefer them to the M.H. rooms 10 times over.

@savagebuster Its not a scam. If you know basic wavelengths and what is actually absorbed by the plant (common sense helps) its easy to have LED's designed for your specific requirements. The fact that you think buying a random LED light is what makes then "bad" it just goes to show that some people are too lazy to do a little research before opening their mouth.

Some of the led lights you buy online arent powerfull enough or have The wrong color spectrum. This is why Some plants wont grow or flower underneath led lights. Hps lights are powerfull and consists out of all sorts of colorspectrums. plants can absorb which light color they need during that phase of there life.

I"m an aquaponic grower from Holland and using led growpanels for just 2 months now. In my choise between led panels hps or tl lights i used an report of university of Wageningen. They did research in what lights Will grow faster and such.. Conclusion is that plants underneath LED lights grow faster than hps lights. The led lights in the research were using different lightspectrums in the growing phase, flowering phase and seeding phase which are ideal for the plants.
