if im not mistaken the spanish portuguese empire was bigger then the english, problem was that when the dutch attacked the portuguese part the spanish didnt helped and in 1640 we already had lost about 2_3 of it... spanish rule wasnt very good for us, nowdays i wouldnt mind being spanish, but everything had to change the flag, the nathional hymn the two tongue one country policy aswell, i wouldnt mind being spanish, when a culture is dying you just make a new one

E Lusitania é também o nome oficial de Portugal em Latim internacional e no Vaticano, para a Igreja católica e o Papado (tal como Portugal-Portvgalliae) mas Lusitania (embora mais latinizado) é o nome ofivial mais utilizado nas Bulas e documentos oficias para a nação Portuguesa.
Hispania e Espanha também oficial para Espanha em Latim e no Estado Papal tal como Espanha ó é em toda a parte(na versão línguistica de cada um).
Isto é verdade e tradição, aparte debates históricos.

@explorersl Estás a confundir a Espanha, uma pátria, com o nome Hispania romano e cartaginês (geográfico de então, como Escandinávia).
Não temos culpa que lhe fossemn buscar o nome(até é compreensível)
O termo Luso ou Lusiádas etc. actual é um termo literáreo e espiritual para Portugal e Portugueses(renascentista, tardo-medieval, camoniano etc.) não é a outrora Lusitânia Romana.
Portugal não é Espanha e não será jamais.
