Canada's health care spending accounts for nearly half a billion dollars a day. There is no sign it will slow down. Canada's immense challenge is to continue providing adequate and equally accessible health care services while keeping up with its increasing costs. In spite of its progress, the Canada's health care system lacks comprehensive information on what best practices, drugs and procedures are most cost-effective and efficient. Pressure continues to mount for governments to better spend their health care dollars while providing more services.
