Team Final at the 1972 Olympic Games. It begins with highlights from the bronze medal Hungarians (and the first clip, of Marta Kelemen blowing UB, is actually from the AA) followed by Monica Cszazsar and Aniko Kery, then the Gold Medal round which had the USSR, GDR, and...Mexico and Canada (this is too complicated to explain here). Extracted from a longer German documentary. Thanks to Doro and IPT for this.

  • Strange in the final four rotation was Canada & Mexico. I read they did this to honor the hosts of the 68 & 76 Olympics w / letting them compete in final rotation

  • is that elvire saadi doing a aerial walkover on beam during the podium training/one touch warmup

  • Thank you SO much for these, Chocdave! For some reason, it has been extremely difficult to find coverage of these routines. I especially like the view of the sidelines. For example, Tourischeva seemed quite displeased with her performance on beam. While imperfect, it was still very good. But she was, and I suppose still is, a perfectionist. And one of the all-time greats. :)

  • Thanks for uploading these....Do you have any more of the East German and Hungarians?
