In other words just let the child develop themselves individually while still providing practical boundaries and nurturing care. Seems like a pretty good parenting strategy to me.

IMO this is not feminist child-rearing; it is parent/child partnership-parenting, child-friendly parenting. Children are people too and should be treated as such, and not as chattel property. I <3 seeing other parents who listen to their children and cooperate and negotiate rather than dictate. It is incumbent upon us to respect our children & to allow them their self-determination, their self-respect, and their dignity. They are their own people, with their own hopes, dreams, needs, and lives.

I like the underlying message but the video is painful to watch, at least for me. Her presentation was horrible, and the pauses and *uhmms* every other word didn't help the situation
