Hartmut, let me postulate one more time that there's very little in common between Nazi program and science eugenics. Pay attention and do not be paranoid. And Yes I am aware about Lebensborn (again you were inattentive and wrote the name incorrectly). I am just encouraging you to think not with stencils and established templates but for your own. If I'm taking a shovel and start crushing skulls - doesn't necessarily mean that I'm gardening. And to finish off, please don't scare me with fetuses.

eugenics is not science, nor does it belong to any branch of science. It is simply a program of slowly eliminating "undesirables". Your use of the word "gene pool" and support of improving gene pool is suspect of certain rassistic mentality and lack of acceptance of diversity in mankind. People subscribing to this idea usually lack the sense of humanity and are cruel and treat people with undesirable features inhumanely.

you seem to be ignorant what happened during the Nazi time in Germany. They were doing not only holocaust but also breeding for blonde blueeyed children in its Lebenshorn program. They were also sterilizing and force deaf mothers to abort their fetuses. you believe eugenics can be controlled. But I don't have faith in people breeding out only fetus with severe Syndromes. They will want to breed out deaf fetuses, as evidenced in the U.K. which forbids inserting cells with deafness.

Who said that it cannot be controlled? The fact that he was mass slaughtering millions in camps had very little to do with eugenics. It has more to do with schizofrenia. Would you call yourself Nazi if you wanted your children to be smart and healthy?

bah, that will mean removing the deaf element(s) from the gene pool, which AGBell and the Nazis consider to be, to say it mildy, negative.That is exactly the point, why eugenics is horrible, because you cannot stop, once you let this monster-embryo of mild eugenics go wild to become a monster creating different kinds of holocausts. THere is no such a thing about controlled breeding.

Guys, this has nothing to do with eugenics. I'm not really sure about definition you brought. But every science always changing and constantly evolving. And eugenics is a science. It's not as much about "controlled breeding", as it's more about decrimenting "negative" elements from our genepool. By "negative" I mean all inherited diseases etc. But also eugenics is for increasing and cultivating all good things: our human advantages and gifts in physical, emotional and intellectual spheres.
