gorgeous Engelbert he took entertainment very serious...he loved the fans and the audience...he was a crowd pleaser...He knew how to sell himself...Even men melted with that velvet voice.....no one can or ever will hold an audience like Engelbert...and he gives credit to his band singers and his fans....class is his forte...there will never ever be another Humperdinck...NEVER...he was and is himself...unique...personallly I still like the long legs and black tux....LOL yabba dabba dooo...

@starr522 - very interesting comment. I never thought about the "confusion" aspect before, but maybe you're onto something. Perhaps that's why I find the young Engelbert (1960's - early 70's) and the mature Engelbert of the last 15 - 20 years my favorite eras. He seemed to be comfortable with himself, who he is - without all of the pretense. Just saw him a few weeks ago in concert and he was great. 75 years old, an elegant gentleman with a great voice, great sense of humor, great presence.
