The message transcends the voice. Dylan can't really sing either...and others. None of them ever pretended to be great singers; they are more than that. The work they do goes way beyond their inadequacies of vocal expertise. My mother, in the 60s, hated Dylan's voice but tremendously valued his poetry and verbal genius; thanks, mom, for teaching your children well.
