Lose faith in something you can't prove to exist compared to believe in the power of humanity?
I am sorry I rather we lose blind faith and go for actual faith. Faith in ourselves and each other. I want a world where God doesn't take credit for my kindness. I'll be responsible for my own sins.
@lucian06207 Actually the forefathers are mostly unbelievers. Most of the great minds are unbelievers. Separation of Church and State, stop violating it.

All u ppl will find out soon i feel sorry for tha unbelievers God is gonna send jesus soon and who cares bout america this country is fucked the four fathers know this too

@daderone What's the difference between religious people and non-religious people when it comes to proselytizing? We tend to use appropriate context. For example, we don't knock on your door, or call you at home, or get between you and your errands in front of stores or on street corners, or even wait for you to be vulnerable when you're grieving the loss of a loved one. We also try to encourage others to use critical thinking, not to simply go on believing what they're spoon fed once a week.
-
@daderone I haven't been imposing anything on you, we've just been having an argument. You've been free to ignore me and talk to someone else this entire time. If you don't want to hear my arguments for why it doesn't make sense to believe in god, then just say so, but don't pretend to be some kind of YouTube martyr. By the way, the "you're just as bad as us" argument says a lot more about the group you belong to than it does about the group you're trying to use it on.

@richarddx22 except I'm not a Christian, so I don't know how that is relevant. Who are you to judge as you state? I also don't believe in hell so I'm encouraging you to make less assumptions and ask rather than accuse or judge and condemn.
-
@daderone But I know a lot about organised christianity. I have researched it, I almost became a christian at 14, but since then with a lot of study in different religions and their place in the world picture I have decided organized religion is not for me. The idea that ommitting the "O" from God is "respect" seems rather beyond strange to me but who am I to judge. I can think of many reasons to be afraid of organized religion, but some God with power to put you in "hell" is not one of them!

@muterabbit Its your choice not mine. Just keep in mind that you're the one trying to impose your beliefs and opinions on me, not I on u. I find it very interesting when those 'without faith' think they're any different from those with when they speak in fundamental truths that cannot be challenged by the experiances, perceptions, opinions & beliefs of others. Be an atheist, I don't care and am not trying to convert or need 2 convince u. Do u need to convince me? How r u diff from Proselytizing
-
@richarddx22 yet you come to critisize me and challenge my faith and beliefs but know nothing of it. What you perceive as fear is respect and with all due respect you seem the one who is afraid.
-
@daderone and you claim to have so much faith in GOD but you can't even use the proper letters in the word God. What, are you scared you'll offend your imaginary friend?

Faith in what? Fictitious characters in some book written by various men from thousands of years ago? All organized religion is interested in is one thing, power and control. Most people who subscribe to such rubbish are also only in it for themself, thinking that if they do as their religion says they should, they will be "saved".
I'm a recovering Christian and see through all the nonsense those swill merchants put forth.
Since becoming atheist, I've lost all those insecurities that come with being tied to one "God" or belief system.
It's just the rational path.
