Awesome video man keep them comming:D Lets hear "Hey Bulldog"!

In later years, I've heard that Lennon said that PM's use of the bass was 'excessive.' Chris Squire got the same treatment. But I have always found their bass styles to be innovative, melodic, and appropriate. Excellent work on this latest post!!

You are a very gifted musician as is evident by your ability to switch so quickly from the horizontal to the vertical in this medley. *thumbs up*

@bigwhtpony Excessive: Perhaps. McCartney plays his bass guitar as if was a trumpet, he plays it as if it was a piano, he plays it as if it was a rhythm guitar. "Sometimes" he switches these roles in a single song. McCartney was a genius but he was also an egomaniac who attempted, perhaps consciously, perhaps subconsciously to BE THE ENTIRE BAND.

@yaremus Well, if you are interested in hearing my not-so-humble opinion, what made McCartney great was his sense of the abstract. McCartney was not only a talented musician but also an artist. There is something to be said of the technical and there is something to be said of the artistic. If Beethoven was an Einstein then McCartney is a Picasso. :)

You're getting some nice tone there and nice, smooth changes from low to high.

Absolutely great

I think without Paul's baselines The Beatles wouldn't have been half as good. What would YOU say makes Paul's bass parts special?

There's nothing to say except you're the best bassist on YouTube.
How much did this bass cost? :)

@wassupdannybadz It costs about $500. If unused, it will require $800. I got it secondhand. Tuners and knobs were already replaced.

what settings do you use on the bass and on the computer to get that sound?

@uzn88 I cut around 3kHz, distorted and compressed the sound.

Can i just say you have a really nice way of recording the bass and i would like to know how you did it:)

@beatlefan247 I plugged the bass in ZOOM G2Nu Phone-Jack directly then connected it to a computer via USB cable. I heard McCartney also plugged his bass straight into the recording console.
