  • @SpankRamen2 They just change things on shows, per usual.

  • @SpankRamen2 haha..good point!!

  • @hyacinthb:

    Groovy! Thanks!

  • @SpankRamen2 LOL! Right, the writers can clear this up, but we get a picture from the sketches. I'm much older than the 80's. I remember when the CBShow was on Saturday nights at 10:00 p.m. I sent you the sketches that verify what I've told you.

  • @hyacinthb:

Well, I'm left sctarching my head. I wasn't born until the 80's, so all I really know is the sitcom. I didn't know there was a Phillip, Jack, or Larry (played by Alan Alda? Really?). Guess I just got educated!

The only people who could ever clear things up would be the writers of this sketch!

  • @SpankRamen2 - The Mama's Family sketches only had five children of Thelma Harper: Mary Ellen, Eunice, Phillip (Roddy MCDowell), Jack (Tommy Smothers), and Larry (Alan Alda). Vinton Harper was created for the sitcom. He was not in the original line of Harper children on the show. Eunice had two boys, Bubba and Raymond, but in the sketch with Maggie Smith, Bubba's brother was Billy Joe. Note: only 1 child connects Carl Harper as their father - Eunice.

  • ha, ha, loved it when mama says 'Welcome to the club." Funny stuff!

  • I didn't like the ending. It seems false. The more logical answer to why Eunice married Ed seems simply she wanted to get out of her mother's house... which, knowing this family, makes all the sense of the world and is in character and is totally believable. Eunice, for her flaws, always seemed to be very knowledgeable. At least enough to know no one would believe they married for love if she got married and had a baby within 8 months.

  • @Libsaresickpeople don't be stupid. of course there is contemporary comedy that compares
