In the United States nearly one in 40 children has a parent in prison. No government agency is directly responsible to deal with the impact of the judicial system on children and families. Social problems such as poverty, substance abuse, crime, teen pregnancy, and truancy almost always get worse when a parent is imprisoned. Unfortunately, an incarcerated parent's history often repeats itself in the lives of their children.
Wouldn't it be amazing if we could help stop this cycle and offer hope for a higher future?
