  • I could honestly say I visited the majority of the shops on Alec Rd during the 60s, born just off Moss Lane nr the Baptist Church, as others have said, it was a crime to demolish this community.

  • My dad, Dennis Viollet played for Man Utd during the 50's and 60's. He grew up in a house on Clinton Avenue in Moss Side:) Thanks for posting this video.

  • ;'(

  • First of all thanks for the great videon and music. my name is Russell, I was born at 314 Great Western St Moss side, I was born in 1949, and lived in the chippie, along with my 2 Sisters, 2 brothers, Mum and Dad. And no they wer'nt good times, in fact living in the moss was bloody miserable, it was one big infested cockroach grot hole, and i was glad to see the back end of it when my mum sold up and moved us to Broadbottom in Tamsside. Sorry but i dont mean this response to be offensive,

  • Watching this brought back so many memories! I was brought up on Richmond Street and I worked Saturdays in Joan Napier Chemist. Very emotional journey watching it. What a huge mistake was made destroying Alexandra Road and the surrounding area, (so many homes demolished friendships torn apart and peoples lives changed forever. I was heartbroken when we were forced to move from the house I was born in. They had no right.) Thank you to cerburusuk for sharing this.

  • My Aunt Edith, took me shopping every Saturday with her son Paul along Alex rd, boy the memories this has brought back! does anyone remember the police horse stables (where the brewery is now) I had my 1st drink at the Little Alec :D
