As a slot player for so many years, I can tell you that none of these machines are RANDOM - you should have changed machines, this one was on a losing cycle. First thing I do is locate machines that are on a paying cycle, then I play them with $1000, and stick to the machine. The more you spend in, the more you flush out the jackpot eventually.
