Desert Eagle 50 caliber handgun with an Ultra Dot Pan-A-V red dot reflex sight installed.

Featured in the video is loads of Desert Eagle shooting, various styles and angles, breaking a number of bottled and canned items for dramatic effect. The idea of the video is to introduce the concept of using optical sights such as scopes and reddots on a handgun, specifically on the hard hitting Desert Eagle. In the video we test the Ultra Dot sight for durability and conclude that it is probably up to the task of sitting on a Deagle. Should I break this sight in the future, I will provide an update.

Transcript of the voiceover:

Desert Eagle! The barrel has an integrated weaver rail for installing optics, but in 50 caliber the gun has fierce recoil.

Whatever you attach to it had better be tough. Here I am testing the durability of an Ultra-Dot reflex sight. I'll do durability tests on a few other items too:

After 110 rounds, Ultra Dot is solid and keeping its zero. I also tried the NCStar knockoff of this sight and in under 50 rounds it was destroyed. When buying optics for heavy hand artillery, dont cut corners.

End of Transcript.

Production notes: I know I made a big mess while producing this video, but I did do a thorough clean up of the shooting range right after I was done. While it was unpleasant and took a long time, it is worth it to keep the range a good clean safe place to shoot for everyone. This video was edited and produced entirely using free open source software such as virtualdubmod and avisynth.

  • waste of cranberrys!!

  • I would never do that to good cranberries.

Its "Castleburys" beef stew actually. Shortly after I bought it years ago there was a botulism scare and their beef stew was on the list of contaminated products ... not that size can specifically, but that was enough to put me off. Im not eating it.

  • So, You can't really use a red dot sight for a desert eagle?

  • Of course you can.

  • thats no different then me saying...i bet the m109 field howtizer would own your manpfeifer zeliska revovler in a power test......theres always a one upper when someone makes a good video, oh and im sure that you have 17,000 dollars to buy that revovler and conduct that power test agianst the desert eagle .50.

Dr.bilderburger Ignore him, it was a great video, i bought my reflex sight for my desert eagle .50 and it works great. Thanks for the help!!!

  • get the 44 magnum desert eagle, its great, a little less kick, weighs a little less, can hold one more round, is still very powerful, and looks longer, but its just less thick

  • How does this compare to a .44 magnum revolver? Iv shot one of those and thought it was the most insane thing in the world at the time.
