Rare live recording of The Damned 'Ignite' from some Spanish tv show way back in 82' from 'Strawberries' era. I've recently discovered this on a dusty old tape I received many years ago - there are more songs uploaded from this 'gig' so check them out!

  • best damned lineup ever!!

    sensible,scabies,vanian,gray.

  • I totally agree!! This is their peak! Without this period 80-82, The Damned would never have become the legends that they are!

  • such an awesome song, the psychobilly band Koffin Kats do a great cover

  • Don't forget Roman. Dammit get a chance to see the Captain play every note and the cameraman goes and focuses on the back of his guitar.

  • I saw this tour and haven't listened to Strawberries much since then but still love the Damned. This song started with a dark stage and Captain's guitar and with the timing of James Brown, Vainian snapped his fingers, the lights came on and his hand was on fire. These guys were tight, professionals and I think moving away from Punk when Strawberries came out?

  • When I first heard this song I was through the roofing bouncing round like a maniac its just so fuking brilliant like everything by the Damned!!

  • the spanish tv show its named la edad de oro (the age of gold)in that tv show also performed bands

like killing joke ,violent femmes , the lords of the new church, genesis p orridge, echo and the bunny men and many more .sorry for my bad english

  • ooh yeh,how could i forget roman!!

  • and jugg!

  • nice to see capt play some great guitar. looking back, it has a bit of a rockabilly beat to it! similar beat used in Nasty and Democracy......

  • I remember watching this on tv!

It was 1983 in a program called "Musical Express". They played "Stranger in the Town" and "Disco Man" too.

Best lineup and Strawbwerries is a GREAT album. The Damned was one of the bands which help me survive the eighties.
