I attended Displace Me 2007 in DC on 4/28/07. Unlike those in Africa, I had the option of walking away at the end of the day. Instead of fighting a war that we can't win in Iraq, our troops should be in Africa fighting to give the refugees the same option I had - the option to walk away.

What we also need to be up-in-arms about is the surplus of ready-to-eat meals that the FEMA just dumped instead of sent to people that needed them. They had TONS (I don't remember the exact figure) of military ready-to-eat meals that they had extra of after hurricane Katrina. And they just got rid of them instead of used them. Now THAT is what is ridiculous. Imagine how many Ugandan and Sudanese refugees they could have fed!

I WAS IN NASHVILLE!
it was amazing to see everyone get together and fight for something so far away from home but so close to our hearts.
i raised the same question last night.
why are we fighting a war we can't win in Iraq when we can help the displaced in Uganda.
