During a delay at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, members of the Sun Prairie High School Jazz Band and the Downers Grove South High School Band from Downers Grove, Ill. jammed to two of the songs they performed at the Essentially Ellington high school jazz band competition May 12-14 at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City (advanced apologies for the shaky nature of the video, but many people were moving inside the airport terminal where this was videotaped).
Oh, BTW, I think I read somewhere that passengers who have Boarding Passes @ "Baines" - Nashville Airport could hang out, relax as they are WAITING for their plane OR as they are Getting OFF the Plane. I think I also heard that Travelers in Nashville WANT Flight DELAYS B/C they'll get THIS (i.e. Music Performances). It's more of an enjoyable experience DOWN in Nashville. SO Why Can't Travelers HERE GET THAT SAME THING?!

Being a native NYorker music scene isn't the way it used to be. It's about time some musicians (even tho' it's H. S. students) PLAY in the Airport. LGA has a bad rep for small runways, high amount of delays, etc. which I AGREE, but this would give LGA some credit for travelers to see. NASHVILLE's "Baines" Airport Always have Songwriters, Artists, etc. PLAYING @ their Airport ALL THE TIME! So, why can't NY have more of this?! YOU GO!! H.S. Students!!

I think Wynton Marsalis would love seeing the spirit of Essentially Ellington at La Guardia Airport! Really fun! --- A Wellesley High School 2 O'Clock Jazz Band Parent
