First off i dedicate this video to all my youtube friends and Subscribers!!!
Yes exactly 2 years ago today at around 4:30 in the afternoon i was about to give up on trying to get these games to run when suddenly i found one last video which helped me to get the games to run on DOSBox
Personally i thank Surferbrg for inspiring me not to give up on the games. So now as the 2 Year anniversary unfolds i figured i would put together a bunch of pictures i found on the net of what my Packard bell's(yes i had 3) Looked like, narrated BY ME yes with my actual VOICE NOT MICROSOFT SAM.
Instead of rehashing last years Anniversary video(which i kinda did) i decided to narrate this video and give my time-line of my earliest memory of the game till this day, November 16th, 2010.
I think its obvious to see that these games meant a lot to me and i have the same REQUEST for my youtubers so enjoy this video.
I know i kind of slip in a couple of parts in the video i am sorry.
Time-line( corresponds to the Video shorter version than told) Dates estimated from Calenders from Respected years
Part 2
Summer 2000- Uncle does something to my Windows 98 that i don't remember and that he doesn't remember either which the Sears techs don't know how to fix and they finally give us a Compaq Windows ME because Packard Bell had just stopped to function in the US.
October 8th, 2000(just a guess but around then)- My mom got the Compaq Windows ME which is the longest running computer i have had It is currently right behind me and still works. I got her Second Packard Bell Windows 98 First Edition and this lasted me from 2000-2004( I slipped out it is the SECOND longest packard bell Computer i have had not THE LONGEST)
Late 2003- Early/Mid 2004 When i was going into 6th grade my Packard Bell began experiencing problems and finally the sound-card(which i now believe was the speakers), and CD-ROM Drive Start to go. A computer guy my mom became good friends with said he would build me a New computer that could run all my old games on it.
June 2004- Get my brand new Custom Build computer with Windows ME on it, however i am told my old Knowledge Adventure games will not run on it. I begin looking for alternate Versions of the game so i could play them. This computer would be my main computer for 6 years!
July 2004- Re-Purchased 3-D Body Adventure however it did not work so i put it away fro the time being
August 31st, 2004,- Purchased 3-D Dinosaur, Kids Zoo, Undersea, Speed and Space Adventure for my Windows ME
September 2nd, 2004-gets my Copys of those 5 games and sees they do not work and is upset. I was told then i would need a Windows 98 for them to properly work and sadly put the games away for a While.
January 2005- Begins to think about having a retro computer build but is told it is not possible and forgets about the games again
July 2005- My main computer gets Windows XP Put on it
Late April/Early May 2006- Computer guy puts on the games i had purchased almost 2 years earlier onto Windows XP without full sound so they work and i am happy for a bit. I missed the sound.
July 2006- Find out guy ripped us off big time and never use him again
September 2006- Gets new computer guy and fixes up our computers, but doesn't know a thing on DOS
Sadly that's were the time-line ends here :(
Thats it for the Sad Part 2
