GOYA'S GHOSTS, directed by Mlios Forman and starring Natalie Portman, Javier Bardem, and Stellan Skarsgard, is a sweeping historical epic, told through the eyes of celebrated Spanish painter Francisco Goya (STELLAN SKARSGARD). Set against the backdrop of political turmoil at the end of the Spanish Inquisition and start of the invasion of Spain by Napoleon's army, the film captures the essence and beauty of Goya's work which is best known for both the colorful depictions of the royal court and its people, and his grim depictions of the brutality of war and life in 18th century Spain. JAVIER BARDEM is Brother Lorenzo, an enigmatic, cunning member of the Inquisition's inner circle who becomes infatuated with Goya's teenage muse, Ines (NATALIE PORTMAN), when she is falsely accused of heresy and sent to prison. In theaters beginning July 20th.

solo pienso en puras majaderias...o sea estoy encabronada...prefiero la de carlos saura...la de goya en burdeos...esta es pinche pelicula con capital anglosajano para publico anglosajano...q patraña! en ingles.
The torture scene with Natilie Portman was a little disapointing, it wasn't long enough. I really expected to see more do to the hype of her role in this film. I rate it 2/5 stars.
GOD! They're so good actors! The character of Ines...made me burst into tears when was out of prison. Horrific vision but true of the ancient time! I love this movie (I won't watch it twice though)
Hearing Javier Bardem speaking english in a movie about 18th century Spain did make me tilt my head and giggle just a bit but Stellan Skarsgard and Natalie Portman are such fantastic actors I can ignore it.
Most movie heroins I dont care for, But I felts strongly like protecting ines'. I just felt so sorry for her because she had been so railroaded. Most movie "victims" are unrealistic, If this was a crappy typical american movie Ines would have gotten out and got revenge on javier, instead Ines wanted her child back and certainly did not hate javier . She was a little off for sure, but she bore an innocent sweetness that is irristable.
