Ελληνικοί υπότιτλοι ancient civilization ATHENS and Sparta were both Greek cities and their people spoke a common language. In every other respect they were different. Athens rose high from the plain. It was a city exposed to the fresh breezes from the sea, willing to look at the world with the eyes of a happy child. Sparta, on the other hand, was built at the bottom of a deep valley, and used the surrounding mountains as a barrier against foreign thought. Athens was a city of busy trade. Sparta was an armed camp where people were soldiers for the sake of being soldiers. The people of Athens loved to sit in the sun and discuss poetry or listen to the wise words of a philosopher. The Spartans, on the other hand, never wrote a single line that was considered literature, but they knew how to fight, they liked to fight, and they sacrificed all human emotions to their ideal of military preparedness.

  • fail the documentaries get lower views per part

  • the very first"vietnam war" lol

  • @sbergman27 Sparta had always dispised Athens,Athens made plenty of peace treatys with sparta but never allied with them the peloponnesian war was Sparta fault for conquering other city states not athens, athens wanted to make peace an unify greece under a nation even though the city states would have been under free rule by them the spartans rejected this an destroyed themselfs anyway thats why its Sparta's fault not Athens

  • @SadCarnage1224 Athens could have honored the Peace of Nicias instead of firing up hostilities again. It was pure arrogance that wrecked Athens, with Pericles leading the way. The "Peloponnesian War" is a misnomer. It was more than one war.

Do you think maybe you can respond in complete sentences, and above 1st grade level this time? If not, I see no reason for further discourse.

  • @sbergman27 Sparta Duh Duh Duh?dumbass

  • The Athenians were defeated by Sicilian locals who were Dorian, like the Spartans. They were lead by a Spartan general Gylippus. Gylippus basically whipped them fighting form and they brought it to Athens forces.

  • i dont get it, who destroyed the athenians in sicily? sicilian local armies? or spartans?
