@8BlueSkies The song is "Sweet Thing". Written by David Bowie for the album Diamond Dogs in 1974. The song is split in two with "Candidate" in the middle. In the opening line, Sweet Thing contains the lowest note Bowie ever recorded in a studio album (C2).

Its uncanny how skillfully the BBC managed to capture the mood of the artist and period so well. Possibly my favouite rock documentary. A work of art in itself

Bowie is one of the few musical geniuses ever to appear on the rock stage, he wrote music that was unpredictable and always surprised us with his choice of musicians and musical directions. He hardly ever sang a flat or sharp note live and had an amazing sense of expression and rhythm to his singing style. You can’t expect a genius like that to be normal act normal or even dress normal, there is nothing normal about him; maybe that’s why we love to watch him and listen to his music.

@kwijibomonkey That's good knowledge! And that is awfully low. I'm finally getting around the the post 73 records and I'm noticing how the substance abuse affected Bowie's voice. It certainly changed in 1974-76. Presley's voice is another interesting example. All of the downers and pain killers he was doing by 1975 really affected his voice greatly. Long live Bowie...
