Just because people think socialism will decrease the rich-poor gap doesn't mean it will be successful. America has been moving towards a socialist welfare state since FDR's "New Deal" just after The Great Depression- and what have we seen? The working class made permanently poor and parasitically dependent on the state, the middle class slowly joining them, and the rich dwindling to a measly 1%.

You say the government is a monopoly and causes an increase in the gap between the rich and poor, and then you say the government is moving towards socialism. You do realize those two things are exactly contradictory, right?

The government is a legalized monopoly, and it's gaining more and more control of everything. What happens when we allow monopolies to grow? Increase in rich-poor gap, and the slow death of creative economic innovation.

The real reason it is so difficult in our current market is not because it's free (it's not), but because the government is moving towards socialism. It forces everyone to share the way gov't demands. I'm an entrepreneur- I want equality of opportunity, not equality of outcomes.

Really? The private sector could create many more jobs? Business is honest. The good guys win. The police is on your side. You still believe in the national bull shit story? OIl companies down to 3 now. 8 before that. Five media companies now? Newspapers in your city? 3-4? Nope, 1 now. But ice cream? 32 FLAVORS! Paper or plastic. Coke or pepsi. Isle or window. That's your private sector working. Government is now pushing towards green jobs. Private sector? Nope our way is the right way.

No wonder the school system sucks, its monopoly has dated back to 1790. But it gets away with it because government run monopolies are protected. The idea of balance and sharing is wonderful, but why do people assume we can't balance and share in the private sector?

Everything you've listed could have created millions of jobs in the private sector, replacing the gov't jobs & adding many more, opening the world to entrepreneurs instead of forcing millions of people to subscribe to 1 monopoly.
