A classic aria from Giacamo Puccini's beautiful opera, "La Boheme", a classic story it is said that Pucini had heard of and adapted the theme to his opera, as he had confided earlier to a friend that he was intending to compose a opera called "La Boheme, c'est La Vie". I myself know what it's like to be an impoverished artist in Paris, tho I quickly learned how to obtain a middle class income singing my own compositions on the Paris Metro and then taking a collection back in the 1980's, perhaps a century after the setting of this aria of the Pucinni opera.
