You may have thought that, but "we" did not. They have been doing the same thing (lying) to blacks for years, but it was Republicans who ended slavery and Republicans who pushed civil rights through, while Democrats like Robert Byrd fought to block it. And guys like him and Kennedy spend their entire lives as Senators doing nothing but screwing up this country.
