Consider that the intended audience here are probably fellow students and their parents at an American High School who probably don't understand German and don't know much Bach. At least they will get some appreciation of how Bach's music supports the text. Of course, a professional ensemble should do it in German with the oboe accompaniment of the original.

why not the original in German? It seems to me it's more appropriate and expressive for the subject of this piece... I guess it's just a matter of taste, in any case, very good job! congratulations!
