@themikester223 - It's a Southern Pacific "Cab-Forward", possibly an AC-7 or another in that series. The loco was turned around to run "backwards" so that the cab would be ahead of the exhaust steam and smoke in tunnels along the routes they were used.

Hey I'm making a model layout that is a railyard, a turntable, and some sidings. It's supposed to be like a museum, like Steamtown National Historic Site, if you have heard of it. What would you recommend I would use as a ground cover in the yard area?

Looks like some serious shit here. Great Models!

This is the nicest, most realistic layouts I've ever seen. Love the locos and the coaling tower. Great job.

this is nice
Hmm I always thought a roundhouse was specifically a radial engine shed with turntable in the middle?
Have to say it is impressive modelling regardless!

The shed is radial but they dont always go all the way round.

Ah well - the layout came about by me not having enough UP locos but a friend collects eastern roads and has a lot of older locs and some newer braodway ones, so we tend to run mainly Mid western but even B & O stuff appears now and again at shows. All mine is UP and some SP!
